This is my first post in a while. I have felt like there has been a lack of worthy topics toice my opinion on. I had stumbled upon One Be Lo about 6 months ago and realized that he had a way with words, and a unique flow. The beats he raps over are nothing like what you hear on the radio today. They are jazzy and give you the feel of how hip hop should be. This post is just designed to give One Be Lo some love, and put him on for a couple more people. His album S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M. is undeniably a classic and is one of he best albums put out in the past five years. It amazes me that he has been able to put out so many songs and stayed true to his art. My guess is that this is because he started up his own record label so there was no outside pressures on him to make radio friendly songs. This has taken away from his noteriety but what can you do. If more people knew about him he probably would not be as good. Much Love to e of the realest rappers out. One Be Lo!!

50 Cent new song
This song is gonna be off 50's upcoming album "Before I Self Destruct". Personally this reminds me of the music he was putting out with his first album, Get Rich or Die Tryin'. It has a raw grittiness to it. He has gone back to his old swag on this one; none of that candy shop bullshit. He has also regained his flow it seems, which after his second album "The Massacre" he had seemed to lose.

Wale on the come up?...maybe not but here's a shout out nonetheless
In case you didn't know, Wale is DMV's finest as far as rappin goes. He has now paired up with lady Gaga whom you probably have heard on the radio with the catchy tune "poker face"; and although this song has been out for quite a while it has just now come out with a video. In my estimations this is Wale's first true attempt to appeal to the mainstream crowd. We are yet to see if the attempt will be a successful one but, for those who have heard Wale before know he his lyrically gifted, and has a unique swag which could be needed in todays mainstream rap which is filled with fake thugs like Jim Jones, and over confident rappers who fail to stick to what gained them popularity in the first place (ie. Lil' Wayne, who has, coming out with a rock album, as many of you know). The question for Wale will be if the mainstream is ready for him. Truth is, Wale may have been suited better in the days of the old school hip hop(93-99). This is not to say that Wale has an old school sound or flow; it is just the mere fact that he seems to have the heart of the nasty nas's and krs-ones. One plus for Wale is his seemless integration of punch-line raps, with his "old school feel". Wale's flow coupled with his punch line flow is undeniable. In perhaps the biggest song he has ever put out "Nike Boots" which uses a piece of a previous song by him "uptown roamers"(another good song) for the hook; as weezy has done countless times. Wale says "lord i'm so focused, so focused then i've ever been/so slightly passed dem like the letter N." In my new posted video "chillin" he says "Police come around don't nobody say nothin/and you be with the cops, you niggas is McLovin". These are just a couple highlights of Wale's punch line prowless. But anyways, for all you hip hop fans that hate the soulja boys of the world lets hope Wale blows up. Here are some links to youtube if you are unfimiliar with Wale, and want to listen to some of his stuff. Look out for his first CD dropping in 2009 Attention: Deficit
